Lions, tigers and sun bears, oh my! The zoo does not disappoint. Me and the grandkids had a ball. The train ride and the carousel were tops for me. We visited every bit of the zoo and made a day of it. I packed healthy snacks and water, you will need it. The food lines are quite long, but they have good options. Get a membership so that you don't have to squeeze everything in one day and you can enjoy it for a whole year. You will also get a discount in the gift shop. Of course I bought the kids a gift. Cool stuff is in the shop. There really is something for everyone and there are some reasonably priced items, $13.00. It was a great day and the kids slept on the way back.
I've been to many zoo's in my life and I can honestly say this is the BEST one I've been to. Admission price is a bit on the expensive side, but I enjoyed myself. The animals outside are so close. The variety of frogs, snakes and birds were beautiful and very educational.
Conveniently located in the middle of Atlanta, large, spacious with plenty of stores, bars and businesses in the neat vicinity. The Atlanta Zoo is also located at the park. Great place for the family and a plethora of fun activities available... Worth the Trip!!!
