This place is such a gem! There are so many different areas to explore and it’s a great spot to go running. Parking can get really busy on the weekends so I would suggest parking on the street near the neighborhoods and walking into the park. I would also suggest sunscreen and plenty of water if you were planning to do the entire hike! The trail is really open and can get really sunny. The paved portion of the trail is so spacious and wide as well as the hiking paths. It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to this spot since hiking paths can feel so narrow to me.
All my life that I’ve lived in the area, I had never gone on this trail for a hike before until last week. I had a great experience with friends. Saw some great views of the bay, encountered some cows, and met pleasant smiles from other hikers on the trail. It got a bit windy and there was a slight drizzle once we reached the top of the peak, but it was well worth it.
I love this park! The trails here are amazing and you get 360° views from the top of them. You can see creeks, cattles, birds and the scenery changes so much along the hike that you never get bored when you're here. There is no entrance fee, which is also really nice.
