Shimogamo Japanese Restaurant

Two words: FINE DINING! This place is amazing! Sushi is fresh, flavorful and spectacular quality. Staff is attentive and the atmosphere is nice.If you enjoy sushi in its purest form or rolls where you can savor the fish and ingredients, then I highly recommend this place. Every time we go, we ask for recommendations from their specials and we have never been disappointed. Reservations are recommended.

My wife and I have been here twice now. both times the experience has been completely different from any other sushi/Japanese cuisine experience we have had. Service is always great. Staff are friendly, attentive and pleasant. The food is just something else. The quality is always top notch and the flavors incredibly well balanced. We have not had a dish we have not enjoyed. When I have the means and want the best sushi in the valley Shimogamo is my first choice.

Been coming here for years for authentic sushi. Shimogamo and its staff takes care to present both modern and authentic sushi with intention and good service. The quality of the fish is quite solid, and seasoning on the rice is true, authentic sushi rice. The location is unassuming but they have upgraded and renovated over the years, and there’s now a private dining room and a second bar.
