My family and I went see the 55 wood block prints by Utagawa Hiroshige's Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido, 1797-1858, Japan. It was a thrilling experience to see 161 to 222 year old prints in fantastic color and in really good condition. Photograph were not allowed except for the information plaques. It was a wonderful experience. The down side was that on the day of our visit the elevator was not working. So if you have problems with stairs, go slowly up and down them. Bring your own walking assistance equipment. The staff are very courteous.
I've enjoyed many fabulous exhibits at the former location (downtown) over the years...Toulose Lautrec, Vivian Maier & Keith Haring. The museum's new location in the Arlington Entertainment District is fantastic, debuting with multiple exhibits, including my favorite, Pompeii. Can't wait to see what's next!
Small museum with high quality exhibits. We found a good deal on Groupon, it was our first visit. We saw A Knight's Tale which has some stunning artifacts from Europe. We're looking forward to future exhibits - it's a gem, right in the middle of Arlington.
