Augusto Romano maintained an acupuncture practice for ten years in a community health centre affiliated with Bastyr University in Kent, WA. He graduated from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago and board certified in acupuncture (NCCAOM) since 1988. He practised in rheumatology practice in Chicago alongside EMG specialists, Internal medicine MD. He developed a more relaxed approach to Japanese needling over the years, applying a more superficial insertion with very thin needles. Chinese style tends to use thicker needles with deeper insertion.
