3 Best Barbecue Restaurants in Savannah, GA

Our experience: I was craving ribs and this was nearby so my wife and I decided to try it out for our wedding anniversary. We are not local and wanted to try somewhere new anyway. Once our food arrived and I saw the ribs, it looks good but just like any other ribs from a barbecue place if you know what I mean. Not thinking much of it, I picked up the rib but it fell out of my hands because of how, "fall off the bone," it was! I then took the first bite and was blow away by the flavor blast. The Mac and cheese was spectacular and more unique than most. Everything was amazing, highly recommend!

The food was good. My brisket was a bit dry. I think they might be cutting the brisket without letting it rest because the waitress allowed us to taste a piece prior to ordering because my father has a problem when it is too smokey and the brisket was juicy and delicious. However, when my brisket arrived at the table, it had no juice in it at all. So I believe they may need to rest the meat longer. Other than that the food was very good.

Had a wonderful lunch with family. We sat outside. I had the BT classic amazing Flavor. I'm not one who likes smoked meat but this had a hint of smoked flavor that was not overpowering. Daughter had the chicken strips. The batter on the chicken was so light I could just eat a bowl of the batter. The fries were perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend.

I'm basing this rating off of this particular visit. On Sundays, they have Oxtails if you get them before 1pm. I had the Oxtails over rice, Man N Cheese, and Collard Greens. It also comes with some sweet cornbread and best BBQ pork in Savannah! You read it! I said it and stand by it! Excellent tea and sides. Large quantities for a fair price. Nice clean bathrooms too. Why y’all giving this place less than 5 stars??? I was in town for work at Memorial Hospital and randomly saw this locally owned place. Decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve had a lot of BBQ across the US and this did not disappoint. Great flavor, great chew, excellent bark. The Mac n Cheese was on point and I loved the slaw. About the slaw! It was an excellent creamy base, but I was wowed with the sweet pickles in it. In all my travels, I’ve never had that kind of slaw. It’s different, maybe not for everyone, but it works pretty good. I was very surprised. Weakest link… the toast. But it worked. The sweet tea was excellent and the BBQ sauce was like a mix of Carolina and regular. I liked it. And finally, Tasha was an excellent server. Give her a raise!

We recently had Barnes cater an event for about 150 people ranging in age from 4 yrs old to 80+ and everyone had great things to say about the food. The catering team arrived early and got to setting up. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. They brought a truck with a fryer in the back so they were able to fry the chicken and fish on site to ensure it was fresh and crispy. The brisket sliders went fast! We also had salad, fruit & cheese platter, mac and cheese, chicken fingers, mashed potatoes and gravy, and fried flounder, with banana pudding and peach cobbler for dessert. This is a definite crowd pleaser and I would 100% recommend them for your next big event!

Great food and Service. Took a hot minute for someone to come to the hostess stand and seed us. But after that our waitress was very attentive.
