“Saint Patrick Catholic Church is one of the famous churches in Laredo. The church was established in 1970 by Bishop Thomas Drury, Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. They celebrated the first Mass in the Parish, the Salesian Sisters' School cafeteria here on Del Mar. St. Patrick Church's architecture and design are modern, eye-catching, and semicircular. Their dramatic interior feature is the 25-foot-wide, richly-colored, stained glass skylight, which teaches the story of Creation in the context of South Texas. The church's other stained glass windows on the roof depict the Sacraments or display church symbols. St. Patrick Church also has a holy statue of the Child of Good Health. The Church is completely flood-lighted outside on the great feasts of the year. The Church has a seating capability of 850 persons. The Parish has several classrooms that are used for different projects.
