ARTHUR L. JANURA PRESERVE REVIEWS
I love taking my dog for a walk on the trail here. Its long enough to tire her out every time but also peaceful and everyone on it is polite. The parking area I use just off of it has tables if you need to rest as well as benches throughout the trail to let you stop and sit to enjoy the scenery.
This forest preserve is awesome. There are nearly 9 miles of bicycle path and beautiful scenery to enjoy. I have spent many hours on the path walking, biking, and running. Occasionally you will see deer and other wildlife.
The park offers paved hike and bike trails through wooded nature preserve. I wish that I could have seen more of the nature trails before it started raining.

BURNIDGE FOREST PRESERVE/ PAUL WOLFF REVIEWS
Best forest preserve in driving distance. Great trails even though there aren't enough of them and the preserve is small. Great variety of scenery and plant life. Lakes, ponds, prairie, grasslands, forests - deciduous and evergreen. Deer, squirrels, birds, and more if you're lucky.
Our favorite spot for moderate hikes in the suburbs. We sometimes choose a short loop on the paved trail near the pond, especially when our fur baby is with us. We also enjoy the longer loop through the trees and then south side of park. Plenty of options for hiking!
Incredibly well maintained trails. The compacted limestone makes for sound footing. Great drainage, even after a series of heavy rains, I rarely encounter an impassable puddle.
