PETRIFYING SPRINGS PARK REVIEWS
Incredible and huge place. Many accessible paved trails with plenty of off trails as well. Wooded areas and more prairie like areas with some creeks. Tons of rentable shelters and adjacent to a beautiful golf course. I enjoyed the wooded paved trail with my son who's in a wheelchair. We plan on coming back soon to explore more. We had to go quite a ways to find a restroom. All shelters were rented. Cool fire brick oven type shelters also. Lots of dogs, hikers, and bikes yet didn't feel crowded. Everyone was courteous. Everyone leashed their dogs. Clean and beautiful!
Nice new trails and walking paths. Love all the wildflowers and work to improve the park. Job well done. The new kids playground will be amazing when finished. Even saw 3 fawns on our walk by the creek.
Beautiful park that keeps getting better. Best value that money can't buy. Great foot trails and mountain bike trails. A dog park at the south end.

HAWTHORN HOLLOW, NATURE SANCTUARY AND ARBORETUM REVIEWS
Our school had a wonderful field trip to Hawthorn Hollow yesterday! Kailyn was so knowledgeable about Maple Sugarin’ and even shared great stories around a campfire. She did a great job interacting with the kids and guiding us through the forest. Though it was quite a cold morning, the students really enjoyed their experience learning about the process of making syrup. We even got a yummy treat at the end. Who knew to put maple syrup on ice cream?! It was a great time and can't wait to return!
One of my family's favorite places to go! Always quiet, well kept, and the workers there are always super friendly. I haven't tried their observatory events but the fairs each year are always super cute and I love the atmosphere of each one. Definitely a must for sure.
I took my class here for a field trip and will be going back again! Kalyn was easy to work with and plan a field trip with our group of 60 students. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable.

KENOSHA SAND DUNES REVIEWS
Never busy, great place to bring the kids and hunt for coral fossils. Lots of flat rocks for skipping or painting. The kids enjoyed the boulders in the lake and spent a lot of time jumping and using their imagination. The walk to and from the dunes/lake was tough for my father due to the distance but he made it. The beach is rocky in most areas but there are spots with nice sand flats.
There is construction going on so there is a little secret path you need to find to get to the beach. It was pretty empty except for the nice fire and music some people were having at the other end of the beach. Definitly recommend coming to check the dunes!
Visiting from another state didn't realize how big lake Michigan is.And the sand dunes were a added bonus
