“Ventura Botanical Gardens (VBG) is a well-maintained 107-acre garden offering spectacular views of the California coastline. With a 40-year master plan in place and more than 100,000 plants already established, the Gardens showcase the five Mediterranean climate zones found worldwide: Chile, the Cape of South Africa, Southern Australia, the Mediterranean Basin, and California. These low-water climate zones, like Ventura, promote long-term sustainability. The garden offers free admission for members and children aged 18 and under. Dogs on leashes are welcome on Wednesdays and Fridays, as well as on any monthly free days. The Ventura Botanical Gardens aims to create and maintain public gardens for preservation, education, cultural contribution, and enhancement.
