“Bells Canyon Trail provides beautiful views of the waterfall and reservoir that are offered by this hiking area, with some challenging trails. The trail is located 8.2 miles from West Jordan. The trail is out-and-back with a total length of 4.6 miles. This is an easy-to-challenging route with an elevation gain of 443 meters. The trail is a great place to take a break, enjoy a snack, and soak in the natural beauty. The trail is easy to this point, but becomes a more strenuous hike up the canyon to the waterfall. Bells Canyon Trail also includes various amenities such as wheelchair-accessible parking, kid-friendly hikes, and public restrooms.”

"Rocky Mouth Trail Head is an excellent location for hiking, walking, and climbing. The trail is located 8.3 miles from downtown West Jordan. The walk is only about half a mile one-way, but it includes breathtaking scenery, including one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area. This is a 0.7-mile out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 278 feet. This is generally considered a moderately challenging route. The trail also provides various facilities, including kid-friendly hikes, to ensure the convenience of visitors. Rocky Mouth Trail Head is open year-round and offers beautiful scenery.

"Yellow Fork Canyon is an ideal destination with a network of trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. The trail is located 10.9 miles from West Jordan. The trail is a loop type and takes approximately 3 hours and 21 minutes to complete. Half a mile from the Yellow Fork Canyon parking lot, there's a stunning 6.8-mile singletrack loop with 1,345 vertical feet of ascent, followed by a smooth 2-mile double-track ride to a beautiful picnic spot. The trail is a terrific place to spend time outside in any season of the year, with a bike repair station and plenty of parking. The trail also features various amenities like public restrooms, kid-friendly hikes, picnic tables, and leashed areas.

2026 Highlights: Yellow Fork Canyon. The best time to visit the trail is from January to November."

BELL CANYON GRANITE TRAIL REVIEWS

Love hiking to the falls! If you’re hiking in the summer start early, all the parking lots can fill up fast, especially on a weekend. It was muddy on the trail as you got closer to the lake and in spots around the lake.

Beautiful trail, stunning views of lake, creeks, and mountains. Allow time to wonder around the lake and creeks.

Great hike, new parking lot higher up so not a difficult hike to the actual trail. Second time here.

ROCKY MOUTH TRAIL HEAD REVIEWS

Easily one of my favorite hikes to take my four year old on. 20 minutes up the trail is the rocky mouth waterfall and it's the perfect place to hunt for rocks and get your feet wet. Definitely worth checking out.

This has easily become one of our all time favorite hikes to do. Easy for kids, not too long, and well worth the effort! My kids were thrilled to be able to walk right into the base of the falls.

For how short the hike is and how much you get it’s totally worth it.

YELLOW FORK CANYON REVIEWS

This is an amazing place to go for a hike. The trails are reasonably well marked so exploring can be done with confidence. Wildlife is both abundant and human conditioned so you can, if hiking reasonably quietly, see an incredible array of different species of animals. On my last hike, I got to within 15 feet of female mule deer with fawns, turkeys with their poults, squirrels, rabbits, some cool looking little lizards, and more bird species than I could recognize. I travel to SLC a couple times a year for work and always make efforts to come hiking here.

Family friendly hiking area and a hidden gem near to major cities like Riverton, SouthJordan ... you can variety of people riding snow bike, nordic skiing, hikere etc.

Really great place to get a hike in close to home. Bike and horses so keep a look out! Beautiful.
