Great place to grab a short hike in what feels like a very remote area. If you only want to see the waterfall it's about 100 yards from the Cascading Waters trailhead parking lot. From the falls the path has a steep incline until you reach the top of the falls and then levels out for the rest of the trail. This loop is clearly marked with blue marks approximately every 20 feet until you reach the Cascade East parking then continues with white markers which lead right back to the falls. But you don't come back down the steep path. This trail does have some roots and rocks on it so be aware as you walk. It's easy to trip up due to the leaves covering them. Also, Cascade Waters parking is very small, holding 5 small cars at most. Be sure to get here early during warm days to find a spot
The falls have become covered in ice. I climbed and took photos. I used crampons and a tripod to probe for holes in the ice. The stream below the bridge is pretty and an easy walk. There are miles of trails beyond the Cascades up to Paxton.
Well marked trails and some amazing views if you make sure to explore a little ways off the trails.
