This is a great park. There’s camping and access to some more intense trails like the flatiron. There’s plenty of easy loop trails too. That day we did the ridgeline trail and loved it. It’s not super hard if you’re into hiking but be prepared for a challenge and bring the appropriate supplies.
We had a nice day hiking the area. Staff is friendly and the campgrounds looked awesome (we didn’t camp as they were booked) great weather. Good bike trails for mountain bikes. Check out the old ghost town not far from the State Park. It’s a tourist spot but it’s free to park and enter.
This place is the most slept on scenic spot I've ever visited. Seriously beautiful scenery, friendly staff and great trails. Just wear good shoes - there are trails that lead up the steep mountain that you don't want miss!
