The family sold the property to the County of Orange to establish a historical park, ensuring its preservation for future generations in 1986. In addition to the native plant life of the canyon, some of the original plantings from the Modjeska era, such as palms, English yews, white lilac, and crown of thorns, still remain on the property. Docent-led tours of the historic house and gardens are located 23.8 miles from downtown Corona.
