Marine Environmental Education Center at the Carpenter House is the center that showcases the captivating world of green sea turtles, Captain, and Coral, as well as the beauty of the coastal environment in South Florida. The director of the Marine Environmental Education Center is Derek Burkholder. The partnership between Broward County Parks and Recreation and Nova Southeastern University played a crucial role in the development of the MEEC. Situated within the historic Carpenter House, constructed in 1941 by Hank Carpenter, the facility is located at Hollywood North Beach Park in Hollywood, Florida. The Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC) offers daily public programming and welcomes visitors to explore the Interpretive Center, animal exhibits, and the historic Carpenter House. One of the highlights is the opportunity to witness a sea turtle feeding, featuring the center's resident green sea turtles, Captain and Coral.

A wonderful place to be and to get educated about the nessecarity to be more aware of our nature and its animals. Perfect for little kids.
Really cute facility. The faculty was knowledgeable and friendly. No problem answering all my questions. It was fun to see Coral and Captain get their daily greens.

This is THE best library I have ever visited in Florida! Staff is helpful and friendly. The very impressive multitude of resources at this branch and online are astonishing.
The ladies at the reference desk were kind, knowledgeable, had great suggestions and my daughter and I love coming to check books out.
Plenty of computers. A good selection of books,movies and periodicals. Strong Wi-Fi and a pleasant atmosphere.
