We have come here several times and something different is always happening. The history of the pioneers is already something you can easily appreciate. This is the Place takes you back in time and experience some of the things the pioneers did like pushing a handcart, leather stamping, visiting the blacksmith, gold mining, washing clothes by hand, farming, tasting pioneer food/drinks and more. The staff dress in pioneer clothes, play their part and have good knowledge. Take the time to learn about some of our pioneer ancestors and you’ll grow a greater appreciation for what they did. They also have farm animals, a playground, food, and Brighams Donuts!!!Geared towards children but the adults can join in on the fun, hence going there multiple times. This is all in the pioneer village which is worth the ticket price IMO. You can spend a whole day here if you took the time to visit each building. I would plan for ample time if you want to explore every nook and cranny and let your child do all the activities. Not everything is always open. It is gamble what is open on what days/seasons. Great place for pictures as well. We have yet to try everything they have available. In the summer during the day it can get hot so you’ll need plenty of water. A train takes you around the village but you’ll still do lots of walking.
Pretty magical place to visit during the Holiday Season. Carolers are a nice touch. Don't miss the opportunity to get some hot chocolate and donuts. Make sure you stop by the candle making shop and make your own candle. The ZCMI store has a lot of fun stuff to look at and buy. If you're hungry you can grab some food at the Huntsman hotel. The gift shop on the way out is a good way to wrap up your visit.
The park's commitment to preserving and sharing history is evident in the engaging presentations and interactive exhibits. The staff's enthusiasm and knowledge add depth to the experience, creating an educational yet enjoyable visit for both adults and children.
