“Shelby DeBause completed her Master's degree from Appalachian State University and completed a two-year residency at a psychiatric hospital in the D.C. area. DeBause has worked in foster care and at an adolescent residential treatment center and has been working in the counseling field since 1999. She specializes in working with adolescent girls, women, and their families and sees clients with various mood disorders, including anxiety and depression. She has a special interest in helping those who struggle with fertility and postpartum mood disturbances, food and body image concerns, spiritual issues, and low self-esteem. She strongly believes in showing compassion and affirmation to all clients, regardless of their backgrounds or issues. DeBause serves as the Clinical Director at the Genesis Counseling Center.”
