I just want to encourage anyone out there wondering whether or not to take the extra step of protection by getting a patent, utility or design. I was successful in getting my design patent approved straight up without any revisions. That said, I was in complete shock when my unscrupulous competitor recently sent me a "cease and desist" letter. I was in complete shock, because not only does my product look nothing like his, but also I do have my own patent.
