The museum has 16,000 square feet of exhibits. Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is a merger between two existing institutions, a community history museum and an interactive science center. The Discovery Museum is an incredible place for kids to learn, explore, and let their curiosity run wild. With a wide range of interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, it creates an engaging environment where learning feels like play. The museum does a fantastic job of blending education with fun, encouraging kids to ask questions, solve problems, and explore new ideas in a way that feels exciting and accessible. What truly sets the Discovery Museum apart is its thoughtful design and dedication to fostering curiosity in children of all ages. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to guide little explorers through different activities, making the experience both informative and memorable. Whether it’s building structures, experimenting with physics, or exploring the wonders of nature, the museum offers endless opportunities for discovery and growth. It’s the perfect place for families looking to combine fun with meaningful learning experiences, and it’s definitely a spot we’ll be returning to.

Very neat museum that teaches kids and adults so much about sound and music. It has a great area for learning about Colorado wildlife both past and present. My wife's favorite area is the tone matching machine...she hears a tone and then turns a dial to try to match the tone and it tells how close you are to the actual tone. My son liked playing the real drum set, my daughter liked the tornado simulator, and we all liked the magnetic wall with tubes for making a course for the golf balls. Very fun family place...takes about 90 minutes to truly enjoy it.

Great, hands on museum for kids and adults alike! Not a huge place but we took our time and our son had a blast. The music area in particular was really fun, it was cool to be able to play many different instruments, if your in FOCO or just don't mind the drive, this one should definitely be added to your list.

What a beautiful experience! Visited in early October and most of the gardens are still looking great, so many vibrant colors. Very clean, well kept, and serene. The butterfly room was pretty awesome too. Nice staff, wonderful local selections in the gift shop at reasonable prices. Would love to come back.

A beautiful assortment of flora and fauna on display, nicely curated. It was my first time going, and it's quite comparable to other botanical gardens on the smaller end. Their best offering is the butterfly observation room, if you like that sort of thing.

Very beautiful! Always some birds to see and hear, trees to watch, and places to bike/walk. Some creeks and bridges to enjoy as well.

What a delightful and beautifully curated museum. If you are looking for a place to take your children to expose them to workd culture for a minimal price, this is it. It is equally interesting for adults and a hub of community events. They also have a little gift shop that supports humanitarian causes. A win win all around.

This was an amazing visit! It was quiet, well curated, and fun. The kids sat and colored a picture while I read the art and artifact signs. There was a whole hands-on music exhibit in the back that the kids loved. Almost every exhibit area had something for little kids to do or touch. There is also a search the kids can do to find little gnomes, just like the Museum of Nature and Science.

This museum is full of fascinating displays that rotate very frequently and are very informative. They display a diverse range of cultures and regions, both from the local community and internationally. It’s absolutely worth a visit whenever you have the time.
