" McHenry Museum is a regional history museum in a grand former library building completed in 1912. The museum features exhibits showcasing the history of Modesto and Stanislaus County. The museum is a non-profit organization, and the proceeds from the store go toward publishing new/reprinted local histories. The McHenry Museum features a main exhibit room, a changing exhibit room, and an auditorium. The main floor of the museum can accommodate 200 guests, while the hall will accommodate 64 to 90 guests, depending on the chair/table configuration. You can shop at the museum store for books and gifts for all ages for any event.

MCHENRY MUSEUM REVIEWS

This is a nice interactive way to view the 1 families history of modesto. The cost is free. To access information on the tour the building next door to McHenry museum is where you sign in and receive more information about the tour. You'll be shown a little video on the history of the museum. And then a tour guide will accompany you through the house. The tour guides area group of lovely ladies that have been volunteering at the museum for years. Their love of Modesto and the museum Definitely shows with the years of dedication and volunteering. Special events can be reserved at the museum and the little park across the street.

Nice little museum in Modesto that goes over regional history in the former town library. Free entrance, but donations accepted. Temp check and masks still required. Museum is two stories, and there's a small museum store. Make sure you go in time to see the McHenry Mansion across the street - oh, and the paperboy statue is super close, too.

Today we went to the McHenry Museum on our way to Sacramento. We were welcomed very friendly and the volunteers provided us with a lot of facts about the history of Modesto and the artifacts in the museum. Would definitely recommend to stop by.

GREAT VALLEY MUSEUM REVIEWS

Great little museums and affordable gift shop--bought more than i thought i would. My favorites was the chemistry interactive exhibit and the archeology exhibit about S. Africa. Lots of dioramas about nature. Great campus as well. Will return to see the planetarium which is currently only open 2 Saturdays a month.

Nice museum for young kids full of local animals displayed in natural habitats. The gift shop has cool, well priced science activities for kids. The entire museum can be enjoyed in 30-45 minutes but introduces kids to science nature very well. Support our local museum.

Very nice place to take kids ! You can pack a lunch eat inside a nice cool and very relaxing atmosphere. Love it.

GALLO CENTER FOR THE ARTS REVIEWS

The Gallo Center is the best place to see a play or concert in Modesto. I was surprised a small town had such a wonderful place to see events. Parking is on the street or there is a lot about a half block away. The place itself is really pretty and it is kept clean and looks newer than it is. The seating is comfortable. Prices depend on what you are interested in seeing. You do need to get tickets in advance. Most of the seats have a good view. Obviously, the further you go back, the view fades. Try to get in the first 15 rows. The theater is not huge but it does seat about 1,200 people. This is for the main theater. There is another smaller theater called the Foster Family Theater that seats less than 500. I have never been to it. The staff is very nice and will help you find your seats if you need and with any questions you may have. It is really a nice theater.

I've been there twice with my Dad and I had a Fantastic Time. My first experience was to watch a Magician, Fantastic. The 2nd was to see a comedian, had more than a few laughs. The Gallo is an excellent spot with more than helpful personnel and a clean Environment.

This place will always be special for my family. Every concert and every show is amazing. We recently watched the Modesto Symphony and Chorus. It was a lovely pre-christmas treat.
