Laguna Treatment Hospital

Laguna gave me a great new beginning in my life and a solid foundation for continued recovery. The staff were so caring and committed to their mission to help those in need. Initially I wanted to stay only 10 days but came to understand I was in the right place and was grateful to have stayed a month. They also placed me with a wonderful outpatient program upon discharge. For their outstanding work, I give special mention to activities director, Deborah, who gave us much needed fun, Eric for being able to put a smile on my face when I was miserable and scared, Janice & Ian for their incredibly valuable teachings & guidance, Jean for her infectious joy & positivity no matter where she was stationed, Sabrina for giving her all as my case manager, Ramiro & Michelle for bringing such warmth to the front desk, & the forever dedicated & kind nursing staff. Maritsa gets special recognition for her infinite & contagious joy she served at each meal. I’m forever grateful to Laguna Treatment Hospital. The only reason I don’t give a higher rating is because of the problems with the facility’s cooling/heating system which made my room like an icebox.

Laguna treatment center was extremely thorough in teaching about and preparing there clients in relapse prevention. The group therapies were amazing. The food was good. They were very involved in preparing me for outpatient treatment as a follow up and I could tell that they genuinely CARE about every person in the facility. Cody was extremely professional as were all the the therapists, doctors, nurses, that I came in contact with. They all made me feel like My recovery was of the utmost importance to them. You get out of it what you put into it and I encourage all who are considering to attend that they be open minded and HONEST about there personal recovery.

After going to double digit treatments centers. I’ve found that Laguna has the best balance of programs. You have Ian, who teaches you in depth about the brain and the timeframe to be expected for recovery. Then you have Gilbert, who’s teaching you the basics of 12 steps and the tools you’ll need to finish them. There is a lot of patients but after the detox faze I found it was actually a good thing because between the 3-4 groups a day and all the people to talk too, as well as therapists. You have no time to really dwell on the negative thoughts and emotions.
