CHEEVER'S CAFE REVIEWS
As I am traveling through the area I found this restaurant that popped up as number one listing on my Google search in Oklahoma City. So I checked it out. The building itself is full of history and I love the fact the company that owns the restaurant has preserved its historic Art Deco design built in the 1920s. What was once a flowers shop is now home to a beautiful New American restaurant with excellent menu options. As a former chef I always look at the little things; the soup of the day, or their signature cocktails. If those little things are served well then you know the stars of the menu will also shine. Their cream of mushroom soup came out steaming hot which is an indicator that the kitchen pays attention and recognizes temperature control and etc. That was a good start. The soup was flavorful and the warm bread that was served aside, was a perfect match for a cold rainy day in Oklahoma City. That was followed by the main lunch course, the shaved prime rib sandwich with homemade aju sauce. The meat was topped off with what I think was a chimichurri blend of some sort, but it was delicious. Portions are large and we'll worth the buck. My only criticism is that I had to ask to be given a menu when I walked in and sat at the bar. Hence the four stars. It was in the middle of the day So I assume the shift change may have had something to do with that. But as soon as the menu was handed to me, they were very accommodating. I will definitely be going back if in the area again.
Absolutely delicious meal and drinks! Visited from out of town, found this place which came highly recommended, and they did not disappoint. Even got dessert on the house! The salmon was excellent and they were able to make the risotto less spicy, and it was perfect. Also loved the history of the building on the back of the menu. Wish this was closer!
Daddy/Daughter date days before my oldest daughter was having her baby. I suggested Mahogany but she insisted on Cheever’s. I forgot how good it was. The chicken strudle is amazing.. so is the bread and the chicken fried chicken is out of this world! Excellent service as always.

WHISKEY CAKE KITCHEN & BAR REVIEWS
What a great experience!! The appetizers will not disappoint you, we had fried green tomatoes, sweet chili duck wings, goat cheese fondue and brussel sprouts.... Incredible!! The service was awesome and we were never left chasing the waiter nor was our glasses ever empty. The food is hard to choose from because there is such a great variety. We got the Trip Tip Sandwich which came on a ciabatta bread AMAZING!! The Hot Hen chicken sandwich is very flavorful and crispy, The ribs and Mac were Rich in flavor and the Pasta with sundried tomatoes and was Delicious. This is great for families with kids or an adult get together, great atmosphere and nice staff. Can't forget their TO DIE FOR Whiskey Cake for dessert.
Stopped in for a late night dessert and coffee with some friends. The whiskey cake is always good, rich, and moist. We did try the strawberry shortcake as the Easter dessert special, while the strawberries, whipped cream, and strawberry basil sauce were absolutely delicious. The pound cake used was very dry. It would have been perfect had it been still dense but moist. Service was great, especially Austin, who went out of his way to help us even though he was not our server.
First time going to whiskey cake. The food was amazing. Not a fan of whiskey so if they put it in the namesake cake I'll pass next time. Also the hummus was very good.

THE MULE REVIEWS
The BEST recommendation we've had in a long time! We tried the Pony and Fancy Pants sandwiches and both were absolutely delicious. The onion rings are by far the best we've ever had!! We also had the huge poutine and we ate them all because they were perfect. No space left for dessert but hopefully we can sometime try the Oreo one. The staff was the NICEST! We loved everything about this place!
Loved this place. First meal I had in OKC and one of the best of my trip. Very chill atmosphere. A bit hipster. But the sandwiches were awesome. You can prepay for a drink or leave money for a friend on their bar’s chalkboard. Very cool concept. I went to the Plaza location. There’s a fair amount of free street parking and a nearby paid lot if it’s full. Parking: I went to the Plaza location. The mule is an excellent place to go for lunch or dinner. We went for lunch and I got the macaroni pony. I loved it. Who knew that macaroni could work that well on a sandwich. The beer battered fries were also very good.
