"Strawn's Eat Shop provides breakfast, diner meals, and delicious icebox pies in a colorful, mural-covered space. Wes is the owner of the restaurant. Mr. Strawn opened Strawn's Eat Shop in 1944 in Shreveport, LA, across from Centenary University. In 1958, he sold the restaurant to Gus Alexander. In 1989, the Gauthier family bought it, and they expanded the restaurant to seat more than 150 people. Wes is the son of Buddy and Nancy Gauthier, who bought Strawn's in 1989. Strawn's has been featured in magazines like Southern Living and on The Food Network. Strawn's Eat Shop offers a kid-friendly menu. They are famous nationwide for their strawberry icebox pie, and locals call it that pie place. Whether you're having a casual lunch with coworkers or a relaxed dinner with family, Strawn's offers great meals you'll enjoy. Free Wi-Fi and takeout are also available.

GIBBONS FINE GRILL REVIEWS

The Hawaiian Chicken was bomb! The sauce was pretty addictive. The price was surprisingly affordable too. I went there twice. The first time, it was very packed. We had to wait to be seated, and then the service was quite slow. Thankfully, the yummy triple dip came out quick. The second time, it was better. I ordered only Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae for dinner. Very satisfying.

Tonight our waiter was excellent.. we started with the firecracker shrimp in honor of Independence day which is right around the corner. Tonight i paired my ribs with the asparagus and Tiny's Mac and cheese... definitely worth the upcharge... you can thank me later.

I absolutely loved my experience here. It was so good the first time, and I went back a second time. They did not disappoint at all. The food, service, and everything was wonderful. I wish they had this place closer to me in Missouri. Keep up the good work, Gibbons. I will be back.

STRAWN'S EAT SHOP REVIEWS

Strawn's was busy and I was from out of town and just needed a quick to go order. I walked up to the checkout and they were able to take my order and before I had a chance to really look around it was already ready. The Fried Chicken special for the day was excellent and the chicken fried steak had an excellent flavor but was a perfectly round steak which was not appetizing to look at. The house dressing on the salad was very good. The strawberry pie was very good as well but some of the strawberries still had green on top. Overall, I will definitely be back.

Stanwn’s is as close as it gets to a good southern homemade breakfast. Super simple and always hits the spot. I had the Hungry Man plate, it was delicious from start to finish…and I wrapped it up with their famous strawberry pie. Can’t go wrong here, the food and service is great.

Wonderful 1st time experience. Beef tips, rice and gravy black eyed peas and Chop steak with onions and gravy fries okra side salads was all fantastic. Service was too notch and the Ice Box Peach Pie was wonderful. Will be back soon.

Arrived and was greeted immediately upon walking in the store. Semi busy, i was able to get a table within 5 minutes. Order drink within 3 minutes received it. Order grandma's pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon. All delicious and fresh made to order. Estimate on pancakes meal probably 15 minutes. Not bad at all. Waitress tracy was fantastic she was on her game tonight, refilled my drink several times, made sure I had what I needed, and had extra napkins. I'm not sure if it mattered or not ,but there was a showroom manager organizing everything and another one managing the Waitress/ waiters in the back. Service has been fantastic tonight. Hasbrowns not pictured cause I ate them already.

I get that “grandma’s house” feeling when I eat at Cracker Barrel. Love, Love the down home atmosphere and country food. I also love that I can get breakfast all day. The little store is amazing. I have purchased gifts for family and friends and items for myself there. Great Food, great atmosphere and a cute store. Perfect experience.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience this lunch dine in experience. Mid week visit...on a busy graduation week...at noon the restaurant was out of breakfast, reasonably understandable, meatloaf, and chicken. I've definitely had better experiences with this chain restaurant. My server was awesome though.
