Cardinal Senior in Roanoke is an awesome facility. The staff are real heroes and "S-heroes", and they work very hard to care for the residents. Mallory, Nick, Barb, Alisha, Landsey and the rest of the staff there are friendly and dedicated. I know my dad is at the right place and getting the care he deserves. They make sure he is clean. The food served there is good, and always a variety. The campus is well maintained and clean inside and and out. I LOVE the fact that the residents are mixed, and it's not a separate memory care ward -- it feels more like a community and less like a "facility" in that regard. I know because I stayed there with my dad for a week, day and night, to help him get adjusted. I got to know the place and the staff very well during that time, and they always greet me warmly when I visit today. I trust them. It's a relief to know that dad i being well cared for in a nice facility, after my mom worked as hard as she could to keep him home as long as possible. The quality of care at Cardinal is exceptionally good, and that has allowed my mom the much needed time to rest and adjust to life after being a 24/7 caregiver for more than a decade.

I can’t say enough good things about Cardinal Senior living from the moment we walked in, the staff made my family feel at ease. The nurses and caregivers treated my mother with genuine compassion and respect. They were always attentive to her needs, and the communication with our family was excellent—we always felt informed and involved in her care. The facility is clean, peaceful, and well-organized. It’s obvious the team puts a lot of effort into making sure residents stay involved and enjoy each day. The Park Oak Grove has been a wonderful place for my mom to live. She broke her hip in December 2024 and was not able to live on her own anymore. Carolyn was my first contact at POG and she made the move so easy for my mother. She was very patient with us and all of our crazy questions. The apartment we really wanted was the model and Carolyn made it happen for us. She had the furniture moved out, had the apartment freshly painted and ready for us in less than a week. This is also a tribute to the maintenance department who makes things happen quickly. The nursing staff welcomed my mom with open arms and made sure she adjusted well. She required a lot of care while she settled in and Missy and her staff were always available and willing to do whatever was needed to make sure her needs were being met. I also reached out to them almost daily the first couple weeks and they were always willing to stop what they were doing to answer my questions. Mason, the administrator was always available if I had any questions or concerns. The PT, OT, and Speech therapists at POG worked with my mother daily to literally "get her back on her feet." They also stayed in touch with me regularly to inform me of her progress. There are also multiple daily activities available for socialization. The front desk people are also extremely friendly and always chat with me when I come to visit. My mom also claims that the food is excellent! Thanks everyone for taking good care of my mom. It means the world to my brothers and I to know she is in a safe place where everyone cares about her.

The Park Oak Grove really stands out from other assisted living communities. The apartments are bright, spacious, and feel more like a real home than a typical facility. Even the studios are roomy and well designed, which makes a big difference. It's clear that a lot of care went into creating a comfortable, independent lifestyle here. The entire community has a peaceful, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend checking it out.

This assisted living is located in southwest Roanoke County in the quiet neighborhood of Oak Grove. Lovely 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with even the studio feeling spacious. Very nice common areas and has outdoor common area. I was very impressed with the facility and the tour was great.
