3 Best Bakeries in Rockford, IL

Visiting the Area from Georgia and my good friend Ethan took us here. He hyped it so hard we were curious if it could live up to it. It definitely did live up to the hype and probably a reason the line has 20 people in it at all times. Very amazing. The Cronut and Brownies were phenomenal.

I went in late one morning and most of their product was gone. But I tried a few things they still had. WOAH! I took my husband a piece of coconut cake and he put that away quick. He loved it.

Best bakery of my life! This review has been a long time coming as we have come to this place multiple times over since our first time last year while living in Rockford, IL. Now fair warning, this is not a bakery for cheap treats and also not a bakery that has unlimited amounts of the same baked goods so plan to get there at least 30 minutes before opening if you want the best pick of the litter and be prepared to spend more than just $20 (Mainly because you'll want to buy everything). When I say we have never been disappointed by the taste of the baked goods, I mean no matter what we have tried at this bakery we have not been disappointed. The only time we were let down is when they had run out of our favorite items (Biscuits and gravy, the apple turnovers). We have had their cinnamon rolls, cookies, donuts, apple turnovers, biscuits & gravy, croissants, etc., you name it we have tried most of them with us still wanting even more. The cost may be a little pricier than typical bakeries, hours a bit different (Due to it being a really local and small business in the best of terms), line being long (Especially right at opening), and only really meant for takeout but this is a place I would brag about to anyone in the world. This bakery can easily hold its own against any big city bakery. The staff is also one of the most amazing, friendliest, and down to earth people you can meet. A special shoutout to the guy who was handling the register and offered us one additional sweet treat on top of all we were buying already because they ran out of biscuits and gravy. One day I hope to sit down with those that work and run this bakery because there have been brief conversations but the owners seem to have a rich story of how they came to be with this bakery based on my previous conversations.
