SAUCED BBQ & SPIRITS REVIEWS

Great place to watch a game and sip on some suds! Giant TVs everywhere and plenty of options for beer on tap. Also plenty of seating and they have a mini arcade near the bar to keep the kids occupied. The food is very good too. I had a chicken sandwich, but definitely plan on tying some wings next time! Also had a pretzel and loved the dipping sauces ;this place is aptly named. The bartenders took excellent care of us too. We'll be back on another game day.

We had the 1 meat plates with 2 sides. Brisket was buttery soft and flavorful. Pork ribs was slow smoked and cooked in sauce. Either one did not need any sauce. Cucumber salad was nice. Not too vinrgary. Green beans were flavorful. Garlic Mash was good but the potato salad was ok. Service with a smile a great recommendation. Hugh setting with plenty of tables and chairs. Also included was a bar. Big screen TV everywhere.

Amazing food and amazing cocktails! Very clean and comfortable outside dining, it was a little cold and windy when we went but they had heaters all over so we barely felt it. Nice relaxed family friendly ambience and dogs are welcome on the outside patio. We enjoyed the music and the multiple tvs playing the game for those who wanted to watch. The service wasn't the best but I think we just caught our waitress on a bad day, we'll definitely be coming back.

THE ORIGINAL HICK'RY PIT REVIEWS

Just came out of the MRI at Kaiser and needed an infusion of good food before a 1+ hour drive home. Hick’ry Pit was the right prescription. Food was excellent and we were there for early bird prices. My wife loved her Cole slaw kit with the dressing separate.

We love coming to eat here. I've come here since I was a little kid. The service is really great and done with so much care for the patrons. My wife and I came here to celebrate Valentine's Day. Today we celebrated a birthday. Speaking of the birthday celebration, we left birthday cards here with money in them. We realize this when we got home. We called The Hick'ry Pit. The woman who answered was wonderful. She said that they found the cards with the money. They locked them in the safe. When we returned, the cards and money were all there! Yay for honest people.

This place is becoming my favorite in Walnut Creek. All the servers are so personable and the food is incredible. Love that this is a family mom and pop shop. Quality of the food is always great, small touches like the house made pickled onions go a long way. What better Sunday than bottomless mimosas and a huge burger.

BUCKHORN BBQ +GRILL REVIEWS

Excellent American plates, especially the tri-tip platter. Generous portions all around. Rarely does anyone in our family leave food on the plate. But here, we even took some half plates to go. They recommend medium rare on the tri-tip and that’s exactly the right taste. Love the bbq sauces on the table. And love the sides, especially the mixed veggies and sweet potatoes. You can’t go wrong here. Can’t wait to come back and try something else. Easy street parking or lots nearby. Put this place on your list the next time you’re in Walnut Creek.

Wow!!! The BEST Food I have had for a great price since I arrived in California!!. BBQ was just like southern made, fries were literally and crispy and the wedge salad is HUGE. The pic is less than a 1/3 of what is left!! We split it and could not finish it. Tons of fresh bacon, tomatoes, green onions and blue cheese. I am blown away. 30 miles from me in Oakland..and I will be back.

They had some really good choices. I had the tri-tip burger and fries. The presentation was nice, and it was fresh, grilled well done, with no pink in it. I would return again; the toppings were also fresh.
