I wanted to get a graduation cake for someone close to me, and a friend of mine recommended this place. I got in contact with the owners, and they were really courteous and knowledgeable in answering my questions and needs. I felt taken care of, and I really appreciated that because I really wanted to make the cake and the experience feel special. As for the taste, we loved it. I will be back to connect with them for future special events because I feel they earned my business.

Marissa’s Cakes has been our go-to bakery for over 5 years, and during that time we’ve ordered at least 12 cakes. Every single one has been delicious, beautifully made, and a huge hit with our family and guests. Our absolute favorite is the Chocolate con Cajeta cake. It is rich, moist, flavorful, and always leaves everyone asking where we got it from. It’s become a tradition for many of our celebrations. Marissa is always friendly, professional, and very hands-on throughout the entire process. She takes pride in her work and truly cares about making sure her customers are happy. The quality of her cakes, attention to detail, and customer service are consistently excellent. Her prices are very fair for the quality you receive, and you can tell she uses great ingredients and puts a lot of love into what she does. If you’re looking for a baker who is reliable, talented, and consistently delivers amazing cakes, I highly recommend Marissa’s Cakes. After more than 5 years as customers, we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our special occasions.

We received our 3-tiered wedding cake from Marissa’s. We had 3 different flavors for each tier: marble cajeta, vanilla macchiato and carrot cake. They were able to make the cake dimensions to the number of guests we were having which was 106. The cake tasting was fun to sample the different kinds. Our cake came out gorgeous.

Pasteleria 3 Luceros is a hidden gem in Downey with some of the best churros, flan, and cakes I’ve had locally. Esperanza and her family have been running the shop for over 20 years and you can genuinely taste the care they put into everything they make. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. The churros were crispy, warm, and honestly addicting. If you’re looking for cakes for birthdays, parties, or any special occasion, I highly recommend supporting this local family-owned business. Definitely one of Downey’s underrated spots.

The cakes here are delicious. This is my spot for any cake ordering. I order the nut cake (pastel de nuez) de 3 leches. You won't regret it.

Been coming to this bakery since the 2000's, still do and love the cakes here every time! I highly recommend the tres leches pasteles, churros and the chocoflan. It's quality is always the best, decorations are beautiful and the flavor is perfect! Hoping to visit here again soon this year for future birthday events.
