The church's ultimate mission is to be disciples of Jesus Christ and good stewards. The early Masses were held at the old Five-Mile House on Pacific Avenue at Rivara Road, serving the growing Catholic population prior to the move to the current location in 1953. Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary also responds to the spiritual needs of the diverse community and encourages discipleship.

2026 Update: Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was formally dedicated on February 4, 1954, by the Most Reverend Hugh A. Donohoe, Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco. Rev. John F. Quinn, the founding pastor, ensured that the parish’s foundation reflected the teachings and values of the Gospel. This foundation remains present today and has been lived out every Sunday for the past 60 years."
