“Steve is the managing partner of The Oberman & Rice Law Firm. He has been practicing DUI defense law and criminal defense law in general in East Tennessee for over 40 years. He is currently the only lawyer in Tennessee Board Certified as a "DUI Defense Specialist.” However, Steve has also defended those accused of even more serious crimes in federal and state court, including bank fraud, embezzlement, homicide, all types of drug cases, and a variety of white-collar crimes. Steve is the author of a legal reference book, "DUI: The Crime and Consequences in Tennessee" as well as the co-author of “Drunk Driving Defense,” a legal treatise referred to by the U.S. Supreme Court on multiple occasions. Furthermore, Steve regularly lectures to other lawyers, judges, and law enforcement officers. He has provided training at over 200 seminars in more than 30 states and nine foreign countries. Steve is a two-time Fulbright Professor of Law, and has taught entire courses of American Criminal Law and American Trial Advocacy at three different universities in Europe.
