“ 2026 Highlights: Dr.Brian Koning completed his undergraduate degree at Dordt University in Iowa. In 2004, he graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry with distinction and went on to complete a medically based residency at the VA Hospital and Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, UT. He was honored in 2009 as Washington’s Young Optometrist of the Year and, in 2020, became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He has also participated in specialty contact lens research for industry. His professional expertise lies in primary eye care for the whole family, challenging and medically necessary contact lens cases, and ocular diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Brian Koning has participated in numerous humanitarian eye care trips to Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Ethiopia and is active with the No-Cost Frank Haskell Lions Eye Clinic. He previously served on the Lighthouse Mission Ministries Board of Directors, is active in his local church and his children’s school, and periodically consults and participates in contact lens research.
