"Dr. Tamar Gottfried graduated from McClintock High School. She earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona Medical School in 1994. During her undergraduate and graduate studies, she also completed a graduate degree in Medical Anthropology, studying cultural influences on women's health and healthcare. Dr. Tamar Gottfried completed an obstetrics and gynecology fellowship at the prestigious Los Angeles County/University of Southern California program, where she spoke Spanish to patients daily and learned about all aspects of women's health. She also participated in the data analysis of a study on the deterioration of sperm quality in infertility patients. In 2001, she opened her private practice in Mesa, providing obstetric and gynecologic care to women of all ages. She enjoys dealing with various obstetric and gynecological conditions. She is affiliated with the Banner Baywood Medical Center. Dr. Gottfried is fluent in Spanish.

"Dr. Greg J. Marchand is a board-certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Spartan Health Sciences University. He has completed a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), accredited by the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons (SLS). Dr. Greg J. Marchand is recognized internationally as a pioneer in developing laparoscopic techniques and as an expert minimally invasive surgeon and teaching surgeon. He has received certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a “Focused Practice in MIGS,” which is currently the highest certification available for MIGS surgeons. He was recently honored with a World Record for performing a total laparoscopic hysterectomy through the smallest incision ever. Dr. Greg J. Marchand was also one-half of the team that was recognized by Guinness World Records for removing a seven-pound uterus without needing to cut open the patient. He was the first surgeon in the U.S. to receive the “Master Surgeon” designation from the Surgical Review Corporation for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Dr. Greg J. Marchand is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society of Laparoscopic Endosurgeons, and American Mensa.

I have been to many different medical offices over the years and I would like everyone to know about Dr. Gottfried and her staff. They are wonderful. Everyone is very professional, kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Gottfried answered all of my questions. She discussed different ways that we could handle my situation and was fully on board with my choice. When I needed to have surgery she referred me to a fantastic surgeon. I will return to Dr. Gottfried's office for all of my future care. Thanks ladies!

I’ve been a long time patient of Dr. Gotfried, I didn’t get a chance to see Teresa Patin who delivered my last two sons that are 8&10 years old. Finding doctors you can trust especially being a woman of color is difficult and I’m thankful for the relationship of trust and family that we have developed. Thank you!

So glad I found this office, I would have gone back to the OBGYN who delivered my youngest boy, but I wanted something closer to home this time. Dr. Marchand and all his staff are great. I never once felt judged being on AHCCCS, which is one of the reasons I hate being on it. They treated me with respect at each and every visit, and always asked how I was feeling since my last visit or if I had any questions. I had to come in weekly when I was around 29 weeks pregnant, due to IUGR, which I appreciate Dr. Marchand finding and caring about. I am almost 3 weeks postpartum, and can’t thank Dr. Marchand enough for getting me through, and the safe delivery of my beautiful baby girl. I will definitely be back for future exams. For anyone who is nervous about a new hospital like I was, all I want to say is Mountain Vista did not disappoint. From the moment I got there, security walking me up to the labor/delivery floor, all the way to the time I left (3 days later) everyone was very professional and friendly. The nurses were the best and handled my baby so well :)

Dr. Marchand and staff was one of the best and a positive experience I could have had. I was suffering from an enlarged uterus due to fibroids. He got me in quickly and had surgery with the same week. The staff worked fast to get my prior auth with insurance and next thing you know I was in the hospital ready to go. My recovery has been easy and Dr. Marchand even checked on me the next day “Saturday”. His front staff Maria just made me feel so welcomed along with his support staff. I honestly cannot thank them enough for the help and comfort that was provided to me. This is one of the best doctor’s experiences I have had in years. I drove from Tucson to Phoenix area and will continue to do that just to see them for my annuals and any concerns.

Every step if my care for my pregnancy, Dr.Marchand did amazing. So glad I chose him as my OB. He actually listened to me and answered all our questions. Waits are long but it makes sense. He takes his time with each patient and doesn't just rush you out the door.

Loved my experience with Dr Layton. His staff was always so kind and he was very attentive to my questions and concerns, especially when I had Gestational Diabetes.

Dr Layton was AMAZING. I couldn't have had a better experience. With being my first child, he was very informative and helpful and let me make all the decisions but put his input in and suggestions. He is very relaxed which is an added bonus as well as extremely professional. I've never like any doctor as much as him. His staff is very polite. Just can't say enough about how happy I was and am with my time with him. I HIGHLY suggest him.

Dr. Layton delivered both my son and daughter, I am now seeing him for my third. I've seen him for 10 years now and have not gone anywhere else. His nurse Karen is also amazing. He is great and the office it always clean and staff is friendly.
