"Tifft Nature Preserve is a 264-acre nature park that is dedicated to conserving and protecting the environment. The total length of the trail is 1.9 miles, and the elevation gain is 30 feet. This is a loop trail, and it takes approximately 32 minutes to complete. Many animals around the area benefit from its wetlands, marshes, and woodlands. The trail has become the urban paradise envisioned over 20 years ago. This trail is a popular birding spot, with 5 miles of marsh and forest trails. The Education Center presents educational exhibit facilities, indoor programming, and event space. Tifft Nature Preserve also has several marshes, ponds, and many boardwalks to get through different areas.

"Amherst State Park covers about 77 acres of state-owned land and 3 acres of state-owned property. The trail has an elevation gain of 95 feet and is considered easy. The trail includes wooded areas, meadows, ancient orchards, and landscaped grounds. The main access point is in Amherst, at 400 Mill Lane. The trail also has access to creeks and short walking paths. The trail has many opportunities to fish within the boundaries of the park. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking with family and small groups, bird watching, fishing, cycling, jogging, dog walking, and several other passive recreational activities. Amherst State Park also allows dogs in on-leash areas.

2026 Update: Amherst State Park is a former historic place and has guided natural walks. Park Entrance and parking are free to access for visitors."
