"Stepping Stone Falls is an excellent spot for hiking, nature trails, walking, and riding, and covers approximately 600 acres. These are beautiful manmade falls that hold back the Flint River. This is a scenic recreation area with trails, picnic sites, an accessible dam, and a lake stocked with fish. The trail has natural sights of various plants and trees, a variety of wildlife, flowers, and small animals. The hiking trail features amenities such as a kayak launch, walking paths, biking trails, fishing spots, snowshoeing areas, parking, restrooms, and handicap access. Stepping Stone Falls also provides spacious parking areas with both gravel and paved accessible parking spaces near the trails.
2026 Highlights: Stepping Stone Falls offers access to the Flint River Bike Path, Bluebell Beach, and the Bluegill Boat Launch via scenic trails. Fishing is not allowed along the shoreline of the picnic areas north of the falls."
