The park has two great hiking trails and is considered an easy trail. The elevation gain of the trail is 3 feet to 9 feet. Visitors can experience breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay from the historic 1825 Cape Florida lighthouse. There are guided tours through the lighthouse and the keeper’s cottage, or visitors can explore the trail on foot, by bicycle, or by boat or kayak. The trail also features various amenities such as rollerblading, wheelchair-accessible parking lots, barbecue grills, picnic tables, public restrooms, and kid-friendly hikes for the convenience of the visitors. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park also has designated leash areas for pets.
2026 Update: Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park offers a Nature Trail with walking and running paths with opportunities for wildlife viewing and outdoor recreation. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as fishing, picnicking, and guided tours. The park includes accessible amenities such as picnic pavilions, restrooms, parking areas, water fountains, and shower stations. Nature trails and open spaces provide a suitable environment for hiking and outdoor exploration. The park also features picnic shelters that can be reserved in advance through the entrance station during operating hours."
