"Lake Thunderbird State Park is a 1,874-acre area that features several aquatic activities and recreation opportunities. This trail route is generally considered easy to moderately challenging. The route is 4 miles long and has 12 obstacles. The trail also has a variety of hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife trails. The hiking trail has two marinas, nine boat ramps, and two swimming beaches. Over 200 RV sites with 30 full hookups, toilet facilities, and basic campsites are available. Deer archery and waterfowl hunting are permitted in designated regions during the appropriate seasons. "Sutton Wilderness Trail Park covers over 160 acres and ensures a relaxing and pleasant environment with various facilities. The trail's total length is 1.4 miles, which is generally considered an easy route. The trail is a loop type, and the elevation gain is 36 feet. Amazing park, fantastic Renovations! The views and the fishing and the facilities are clean and tidy and the park upkeep is outstanding. Highly recommend to come with your sweetheart or your children I cannot wait to rent BBQ gazebo facilities for future celebrations and milestones. This is a place to come and breathe fresh air and live and appreciate the quality and quantity of our lives!!!! Oklahoma is our home, it is beautiful to see our parks cared for. Amazing lake and facilities!.

Very peaceful and quiet park. We camped in our RV for a few days. The park was almost empty. The lake was beautiful. There was a pier you can walk out on and watch sunset. The park was full of deer.

Great lake to come have some fun at. Nice scenic views. Camp grounds and boat ramp areas are clean and in good condition.

Awesome! Loved it! I was in town because I drove my daughter and her friend to Soonercon. I love to check out walking trails in new places. I wish I would have had more time and that it wasn't so hot, or I would have explored more. They've got disc golf too, I saw lots of people playing it. Nice lake with fishing too.

Sutton is very nice!! If you go in spring, the black locusts are blooming and their flowers are edible. Little delicious white flowers that smell fantastic. There are also alot of fun little wood structures all around made from fallen tree parts along the walking paths.

All time favorite trail I've gotten to walk. Definitely didn't expect a park in norman to be this great but it was a pleasant surprise. Even breaking off the trail, we found beautiful scenic spots that made the experience that much better.

SAXON PARK REVIEWS

Really just a trail. I like it though as I found it pretty. Norman tries to be woke/pc so the distance posts are metric. Also some cryptic code unbeknownst to me.Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Not really a destination trail.

This park has wonderful nature trails. To be seen here are tortoises, rabbits, painted buntings, several types of bird, butterflies, deer, a coyote, crawdads, cone flowers, and beautiful sunsets. The trails were well thought out. The trees and underbrush aren't so dense that it feels like there are blind corners like at some of the other nature parks. The tree canopy keeps the sun off of parts of the gravel trails which is a nice relief. The paved trails don't have the canopy, but there are still trees along that path. The gravel trails have wide varying inclines. The paved trail has more subtle inclines. There were a few days in March where there were swarms of insects after the first warm rain but haven't really had any insects other times.

Really nice hidden gem around norman Oklahoma. Great gravel trails for walking or cycling. Not too long so it’s good for beginners. Beautiful scenery. There is also a small paved section with some workout equipment to stop and get more of a workout.
