"Quarry Hill Nature Center is a 329-acre nature space that includes 8 miles of paved and hiking paths, a pond, and an 1882 sandstone cave. The elevation gain of the trail is 6 to 433 feet, which is generally considered an easy trail route. The nature center's professional staff provides year-round seminars, day camps, expeditions, and recreational activities. The trail also features a man-made cave, a nature center with classes and live animals, and a diverse array of facilities such as wheelchair-accessible parking lots, public restrooms, kid-friendly hikes, and picnic tables for the additional comfort of visitors. Quarry Hill Nature Center allows dogs in leash areas.

2026 Update: Quarry Hill Nature Center area features hiking trails through natural landscapes with wildlife habitats and outdoor recreation spaces. "Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo offer various distinct picnic spaces, six individual picnic shelters, playground equipment, and a two-acre natural playground. The animals are all native to Minnesota. Dr. Paul E. Zollman is honored with the naming of the zoo. Some of the animals in the area include wolves, bald eagles, white-tailed deer, coyotes, bobcats, river otters, bison, and cougars. Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo ensure a wheelchair-accessible parking lot and spacious playground for the comfort of visitors.

2026 Update: Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo offer hiking trails, a campground, picnic areas, and a playground, along with a zoo that features native animals. Visitors can also book birthday parties, which may include a short live animal presentation by a naturalist. A meeting space is available for rent during the nature center’s operating hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with half-day and full-day options that include setup and cleanup time."

This is a 1.9-mile out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 98 feet. This is generally considered an easy route, which approximately takes 39 minutes to complete the entire trail. This trail is great for various recreational activities such as cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing. Visitors can also enjoy a diverse array of wildlife while hiking. Chester Woods Park features a diverse range of facilities, including barbecue grills, public restrooms, campsites, picnic tables, kid-friendly hikes, a spacious playground, and a wheelchair accessible parking lot for the convenience of the visitors. The trail also ensures a designated leash area for pets.

2026 Update: Chester Woods Park is a natural, undeveloped area located along a creek that offers camping, hiking trails, and opportunities to view wildlife such as deer and wild turkeys. It has about 16 miles of hiking trails and additional groomed trails for cross-country skiing and fat tire biking during winter. Visitors can also enjoy a swimming beach, boat launch, fishing areas, and water equipment rentals. The park includes several picnic areas, a large campground with restrooms and showers, and a variety of native plants and animals, including preserved prairie habitats."
