I have been visiting Fenner for almost 30 years. I like to walk the trails. Its only about a 20-minute walk around the perimeter, but many trails crisscross through so that you can have a longer and varied walk. They do festivals and children's activities too, which my family has enjoyed through the years. We have seen owls, deer, many other birds, turtles, butterflies, chipmunks and red squirrels, and even a badger once. There's a nice visitor center. Good clean fun.
Another Lansing Gem! Great for nature walks with or without the dog (they have poo bag stations which are always helpful in a pinch)! I love the variety of trails from the open meadow, to the dense woods and the vibrant pond and flower garden. The center also houses great activities for kids and a great event space. Well worth a visit.
There are lots of trails to walk, paved and dirt, with benches to sit on and lots of shade. My kids have been able to see lot of turtles and butterflies, and a couple of deer fairly close. It's a great place to get or if the house and social distance in nature somewhere close to home.
