Dogs are welcome at Hawk Island, except in the area between the playground and the concession stand, which includes the beach and Splash Pad area. Hawk Island is a versatile, well-maintained park that caters to all seasons. Whether you’re cooling off on the splash pad, paddling around the lake, tubing into the evening, or enjoying a scenic bike ride along the river trails, there’s something for everyone. It’s family-friendly, pet-friendly (with some restrictions), and a valuable local hub of outdoor recreation. If you’re planning a visit, here are a few tips: 1.Grab an annual pass if you plan multiple visits across lakes, parks, and the zoo. 2.Reserve shelters early—they book up fast for summer parties. 3.For tubing, buy tickets ahead online, and dress warmly if you’re watching from below.

This park is a wonderful place for families! It’s clean, peaceful, and has plenty of space for kids to play and run around. We loved the playground and the walking paths. It’s also a great spot for small birthday parties or relaxing picnics. Definitely one of our favorite parks in the area!

Very open, beautiful park. My kids love the playground, but beware, it's easy for them to escape towards the water! The beach has been added to and has a decent amount of nice quality sand. The sidewalk being right next to the water seems weird at first, but it's the perfect place to sit and soak your feet or play in the water with a little one and stay dry. The walking path is one of our favorites. It connects to the rivertrail, potter park zoo, msu, etc. The splash pad is fun when it's slow. Weekends are usually really busy, and it's difficult to get a chair. Get there early if you want one! Overall, fantastic place for a day out in the sun.

GRAND WOODS PARK REVIEWS

Well maintained park. They have an RC track for remote-controlled cars and a Frisbee golf course. This is located right on the grand river, and there is parking close so you can launch a kayak with ease. Lots of room for children to run and play also.

Great trails to walk. I came around a thicket of brush and stumbled upon two does no more that 10 ft away. They stared at me from their place of hiding as I kept walking, scrambling for my phone. They dashed away before I could get my camera in focus. Nonetheless it was an exciting experience that I will not soon forget.

Had a lot of fun here over the years frisbee golfing, having pig roasts with NA, walking the trails, just a wonderful place to hang out enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

We visited this place as a recommendation for Senior pictures for our son. I have to say, THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! It's absolutely beautiful and very well kept. There are many different backdrops that you can use for pictures of any occasion. While we were there, there was a couple getting engagement pictures taken and also Homecoming pictures for a group of students. I highly recommend this park!!

Paved walking trail, beautiful gardens, huge expanse of open lawn, large enclosed events building, clean restrooms, large playground. Rose gardens would be a great spot for a wedding, or just take a leisurely walk. These are only a few of the the highlights of this Lansing gem.

I love walking my dog here. It's nice and clean and people seem to respect the park. It's a beautiful place to visit winter, spring, summer and fall.
