Perfect day for a nature trail walk at Oxbow Eco-Center trail. Located in Port St. Lucie off of NE St. James Dr. this riverside reserve spans over 225 acres with trails, viewing towers and a discovery center. The trails are perfect for rookie hikers and walkers who want to get out and enjoy nature. Paths are clear and flat with wooden bridges and walkways. Markers are conveniently located throughout the trail and there is a nice guest house with a stage in the back where it looks like activities for families are held. The reserve is well maintained with the exception of some of the signs along the path. Many are faded and hard to read but understand that funding is tough to come by lately. A great place to take the kids, dog(s) or partner to enjoy the beautiful nature of Florida.
I’ve lived in Port Saint Lucie for about 7 years now and never had the time to come here but today with the help of a special lady I came and I have to say that is a beautiful peaceful place, I love nature so this gave me everything I can ask for. Did a couple miles of walking, wonderful place. The rain came down on us but no complaints, beautiful nature place in Saint Lucie County.
Very nice place to visit with your family. Child and dog friendly. The center itself is packed with information about local wildlife with live animal exhibits. We're yet to come back to explore the trails. I'm looking forward to it.
