The Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens had its official grand opening on 6 March 2010, with 12.87 acres south of The Gardens' entrance road being maintained as preserved Florida wetlands, subject only to the elimination of exotics and the construction of a potential walking trail. The land was purchased by collaborative efforts by the City of Port St. Lucie, County St. Lucie and the Florida Community. Trust Land Conservation Program. The site boasts a fountain pool, accessible paved roads, lush gardens, a pavilion, a gift shop, and a number of spaces both inside and outside for weddings, meetings, parties, and a host of other activities. There is plenty of easy on-site parking.

First Data and New York Mets announced a strategic agreement for naming rights at the Mets Spring Training Home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The stadium, previously known as Tradition Stadium, was renamed First Data Stadium. The First Data Field is home to 7,000 fans. This was established in 1988 when the Mets moved their spring training to Port St. Lucie. First Data Field will host 18 spring training games in 2017, and First Data Field will continue serving as the summer home of St. Lucia Mets, New York 's Advanced-A Minor League affiliate. In 2016, First Data launched its entertainment and media business, delivering technology solutions for stadiums and arenas around the country through the First Data Clover platform.
