3 Best Indian Restaurants in Peoria, IL

1st time coming here to celebrate my brother's birthday with family since he enjoys Indian cuisine. Arrived with 8 people, was promptly greeted, seated immediately, and got our drinks ordered while we were looking at the menu. Waitresses were knowledgeable about the menu, always smiling, and very courteous. I ordered the garlic and cheese naans, chicken tikka dish, with a soda. I'm not a fan of Indian food, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. All the other food came out within a reasonable amount of time, and there were no complaints there, too. Good service, great food, and a positive atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

My husband and I are somewhat unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, and we weren’t disappointed at Bay Leaf! The servers were patient with our questions and knowledgeable about the different dishes. We had mango lassi, garlic naan, chili paneer appetizer, chicken korma, and lamb dum biriani (all “medium” spice level). The lassi was cold and refreshing; a perfect compliment to the spice of the food. The food was piping hot and fresh. Rich and complex flavors in each dish. Large portions, too. We will be back, and will recommend this place to our friends.

Outstanding Indian restaurant in the Maxam Building, on the stage of the old theater. Dinners are an incredible value, made fresh in house, and absolutely delicious. The naan is crisp on the outside, pillow soft on the inside. Service is warm and welcoming. Bar is separate from restaurant area, you may order and pay for drinks at the bar, then bring them to your table. Or enjoy a nightcap at the elegant bar.

Came here to celebrate my brother's birthday w/family. Arrived & was pleasantly surprised on attentive, accommodating on change of table location, & prompt drink orders upon seating. The waiter & waitress were very cordial & the food came out on a timely manner. Not much of an India food lover, but highly enjoyed the variety of dishes offered. Food was delicious & highly recommended whether you're a fan or not. Definitely, will check this place out again in the future.

If you love Indian food, you need to try Cholas! The garlic naan was so soft and fresh, and the curries were packed with flavor. The staff was super nice and helpful with recommendations. 10/10 experience.

Absolutely delicious. Been twice and will go back. Everything I’ve had is fresh prepared. Reasonable prices and courteous and appreciative staff. The garlic naan is so good.
