I attended the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration at the Idaho State Museum in February 2024. I had not been in this facility since it was remodeled. It is beautiful and expansive. There is a great deal to see so I was only able to see some of the exhibits in between activities for the lunar celebration. I will definitely visit the museum again to see more of what they have to offer. They have a senior citizen discount and other discounts. If you join the Idaho historical society you get many perks related to the museum including free admission and advance notice of special events.
10/10 Museum, exceeded my expectations. Spent 2 hours but easily could have stayed longer. It is a very good size 3 floors of very well-thought-out exhibits with a lot of interaction and interesting reading/several fantastic videos.
I 100/10 recommend this place. It is so cool and there is something for everyone to enjoy. I'd say plan your day around it, so you have time to enjoy all the descriptions on everything. It was very cool.
