The Discovery Center is awesome and great for kids of all ages. The building is divided into 3 rooms. The first room you walk into has various stations for the kids (kinetic sand, magformers, and a lot of other great learning stations). You walk into the second room and it's mostly a giant tape tunnel, along with a giant bubble maker. The third room has a blocked off area for ages 4 and under and the rest of the room is a ton of science and engineering stuff for kids to play.

The Idaho Botanical Garden is a gem. We went early in the morning and practically had the whole garden to ourselves making it an even more magical experience. Walking around in the Lewis and Clark garden section, we saw cottontails and many birds in addition to the plants. There's excellent signage in the Lewis and Clark garden section which helps put into context the plants that the explorers came across along with quotes from their travel logs.
