“Tovrea Castle at Carraro Heights is a significant historic landmark in Phoenix, Arizona. The Tovrea Carraro Society is dedicated to offering visitors a distinctive experience at Tovrea Castle at Carraro Heights while preserving, maintaining, and restoring its historic structures, gardens, and grounds in collaboration with the City of Phoenix. Despite its longstanding recognition as a city landmark, the castle's deteriorated condition in terms of the grounds and the building made it unsuitable for use as a city park. However, after acquiring the 44 acres surrounding the castle, the City of Phoenix initiated a restoration project to revive the building and rejuvenate the gardens. Despite several delays, the City of Phoenix completed the project and added a visitor centre just in time for Arizona's centennial celebration. To oversee the management and operation of the site, the Tovrea Carraro Society, a local non-profit organization, was established in partnership with the City of Phoenix. They now conduct guided tours of the grounds, first floor, and basement and host various special events.
