“Chuy's is an authentic Tex-Mex restaurant that was founded in 1982. Founders Mike Young and John Zapp envisioned a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that served authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appealed to everyone. The restaurant is known for its menu of made-from-scratch dishes, fresh-squeezed lime juice margaritas, large portions, and a fun, eclectic atmosphere. Their menu is made up of a combination of flavors, with recipes and ingredients from across New Mexico, Mexican border towns, the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas, and, of course, Austin. Chuy's serves "big as yo' face" burritos & other Tex-Mex dishes in kitschy, Elvis-heavy settings. There was seating for about sixty people, a women's restroom the size of a broom closet, and a men's restroom that was outside. Chuy's also provides a complete bar setup facility.
