Dr. Stephen E. Doran, with over 30 years of experience, successfully obtained his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He pursued an internship and residency at the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Stephen possesses a special interest in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery, addressing traumatic and degenerative disorders of the spine, spinal instrumentation, stereotactic surgery, functional neurosurgery, deep brain stimulation (DBS), and surgeries for spinal disorders. I had lower back surgery with Dr. Doran about three weeks ago and I am so pleased with his work. I no longer suffer from any sciatic issues or back pain. From initial consult, Dr. Doran offered fewer invasion options than I had received from previous specialists. He identified the root of the problem and was able to resolve with out-patient surgery and less than 2 weeks off work - compared to other solutions I had been given for fusion and 8-10 weeks of recovery.
