SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK REVIEWS

I've now been here twice: once for a mimosa Safari and once for a Roar n Snore overnight camping experience. I found both experiences to be EXCEPTIONAL. This is the perfect way to spend a Saturday out of town. I have also been to the main zoo downtown about a dozen times. The park is roughly the same size, but there are far fewer exhibits, meaning that each exhibit is much larger and you will see a lot more cohabitation. The paths are also larger and you'll have a lot more breathing space compared to the crowds at the main zoo. A warm weekend here is a bit like a light hike, plenty to look at and enjoy alongside some good conversation with friends and/or family. I also found the staff here to be a lot friendlier and more passionate about the work at this location. If you're in the area and like animals/wildlife, this is a must-visit.

Beautiful! I love to see the animals are well and taking care of, seem healthy and happy. Parking is 20$, preferred parking around 40$ but honestly not worth it if you get there when they open. We got our tickets online to make it faster. We came on a Saturday and at 9:30am and we got the closest line to park, there was not as many people as we thought. There’s a lot to see but the best part is the Africa tram, there’s a free 25min ride, however you get closer encounters if you get the paid version (100+$) per person. If not there’s still a lot to walk, do and see loved it.

The park is a wonderful place to visit. The tram ride was very educational. The walk-around was nearly a true walk-a bout. The variety of wildlife was impressive. The walking paths were challenging but worth the exercise. We logged at least 10,000 steps in 6 hours. Our mobility challenged mom rented an electric cart to help her move through the park paths. We initially contemplated of getting a push wheel chair but were glad after a few hours of walking to have rented the electric cart instead. The weather was perfect and it wasn't too crowded. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Worth noting that any concession stand happily refilled our drink containers with ice water. That was outstanding. We highly recommend a visit.

The museum is a beautiful space. The current exhibit is refreshing but definitely take a look at their website to see what is currently exhibited and what is to come in the future. Rebecca greets you at the front, she is a delight. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Saw Steam Powered Giraffe here last Friday night. The ushers are super nice and helpful. I have sat way up high and right up front and the experience isn't lessened, every seat is a good seat.

Absolutely awesome venue came here to see 27. A local performing band was absolutely phenomenal. Couldn’t beat the venue just all around in general awesome place and the grounds are huge. Wish I had more time to explore.

SAN DIEGO CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY MUSEUM REVIEWS

A perfectly sized museum and center for kids to learn and have hands-on fun activities. This museum is divided into two areas: indoor and outdoor. The indoor area has sections and setups to do pretend grocery shopping, understand some physics principles around fluid dynamics and gravity, learn about money (financial center), pretend kitchen area, pretend laundry area, learn about common bugs and insects, etc. There is also an enclosed and safe play area for toddlers (2 and younger). The outdoor area also has a variety of activity sections. They have sand boxes to let kids do some fossil finding, flowing water to do some gold mining / search, plant sections explaining various veggies, compost center to play around with worms, gardening section, obstacle course , pollination center and an enclosure with a pet turtle. They also run sessions where kids can make their own fossils. Overall a great place to spend time with little kids and educating them on some of the common activities and things around us. To top it all off, the staff is super nice and the place has ample free parking. Definitely a place to visit.

My daughter had my granddaughter's 6th birthday party there and it was a great venue and all the kids loved it and had a fantastic time! My daughter went together with another friend's mother to share the costs. Both girls birthdays are about a week apart. It worked out wonderfully.

A small museum, but full of really fun toy exhibits like a water canal, ball rolling “coaster” and big flower wheels, things you can find rarely in other childrens’ museums.
