Veterans Memorial Stadium is one of the most famous football stadiums in Pasadena, TX. The stadium opened in 1965 and belongs to the Pasadena Independent School District. All of the varsity home football games for the five high schools in the district are played at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 12,700 and wheelchair access. Veterans Memorial Stadium also has one large video monitor and special box seating. The first game played in this stadium was Sam Rayburn vs. Port Neches-Groves in torrential rain in September 1966. The stadium is dedicated in honor of retired coach and athletic director Bill Newcomb. Veterans Memorial Stadium is also used for school graduation ceremonies.
