The monument is topped by a 220-ton star honoring the location of the Battle of San Jacinto, which was the pivotal battle of the Texas Revolution. Additional artwork and items from the Spanish conquest, French Texas (a minor collection), Spanish colonial life, the Mexican Revolution, and the Anglo settlement of Mexican Texas are also on display at the museum. Also discussed are Texas's early years as a state and the Civil War. The gift shop has several history-related books that you can peruse. More than 18,000 items from 300 BC to the first half of the 20th century are included in the artifact collections. The San Jacinto Museum of History is 14.6 miles from Pasadena, TX.”
