This is a great museum with a warm atmosphere. They have some cool exhibits on the first floor and activities on the second floor. Admission is free for the first floor exhibits including the dinosaurs. The upstairs area is mostly for kids and admission is 5.00 as of 7/3/23 when we visited. This is across the street from the movie theater. Be certain to visit if you are in the area watching a movie or shopping at the many shops, all in walking distance. The covered parking is close and free.
Had the chance to stop by the museum with the kids while in Prairie Fire.
The kids enjoyed the quick tour of the lobby and are excited to get back and check out other exhibits. The museum is really nice and the information given is very detailed. Would definitely recommend.
The Museum at Prairiefire is a great place to take kids who are interested in dinosaurs, science, and space. The museum has a variety of exhibits that explore the natural world, including a towering Tyrannosaurus rex, colossal sea creatures, and soaring reptiles from Kansas’ ancient past. There are also animal encounters, dinosaur digs, and missions to Space in a Virtual Reality experience.
