Very nice park. Playground right next to the splash pad. Activate the fountains by stepping on the blue pad next to the splash pad area. This park also has soccer field, tennis court, restrooms, picnic tables and shelters. Great size parking as well as bike parking. Open area/multiuse field.

It got two playgrounds. Very spacious lawn that you can enjoy picnics along with shaded picnic table areas. Can't wait to come back to walk/ride bikes on the Indian creek trail which connected to the park.

Good place to go and share with the kids and family. Sports, walk, playing areas, ride bicycles, dog friendly, everything integrated!

Absolutely loved this inclusive playground!!! Definitely in top 5 parks we have ever been too. Went with 3 teenagers and they were welcomed without looks from anyone and they all had an amazing time. Park has a communication board for non verbal friends, wheelchair accessible teeter totter and Merry-Go-Round. In ground trampolines and lots of spinning and climbing things. Can't say enough good things.

Great park! Love that it is fenced, has the soft ground material that helps prevent injuries and also makes it an option for muddy days. There is a variety of play equipment for different ages. Very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms have toddler seats so the adults can go to the restroom with less of a struggle. Nice picnic areas and overall just a great space! Only negative is there's not enough parking for how popular of a spot it is.

I love this park it my favorite one so far because so many play areas for all ages (toddler under 2 yrs if age). It's clean and fenced in for safety. Highly recommend this park if you're in the lenexa area. My 2nd recommendation is Black Hoof Park, so many parks in one area. Shout out to park staff and parents who keep it clean. There are public bathrooms, including a family one.

THOMPSON PARK REVIEWS

Thompson Park is one of our family's favorite parks. It has been remodeled in the last 5 years and has a great playground, splash pad, interactive things for the kids to do, and lots of places to sit and just enjoy the environment. There's a nice path if you want to take a stroll and large grassy areas for kids and kids to run. There is a pavilion with a grill and picnic tables for big events and individual tables spaced around the park for smaller gatherings, too. There's a concert stage and enough of a grassy area in front of it to seat a large audience. It's one of our favorite places to take the family!

Beautiful newer park in downtown OP. Well thought out and has something for everyone. Splash pad, grass tunnel, amazing pavilion spaces. New restrooms. Gorgeous landscaping. Band shell. Next to the historic Strang Carriage House.

Great downtown OP park! They have a splash pad for kids, playground, restrooms, and have added additional area for picnics and more grilling sections. You can rent the renovated carriage house for parties and enjoy the open grassy area for play or watching your favorite live music on the covered stage. Leashed pets are welcome.
